Well I got it going, it runs great, pumps water and the thermostat works, no leaks no squeaks. She idles a bit high but thats a simple adjustment, it all re sealed new stator, new plugs etc etc etc, I have a nice 9.9 hood for it and I'm happy!

I had to call CDI to confirm the timing setup, I discover this on my own but called anyway.... the smaller flywheels on the newer models use 2 degrees less advance than the big flywheel models from the early 73 up to about 1976....gas related...not really sure on the years but I'm sure on the timing.

ask me about it some time:D http://youtu.be/3IwRwMwE3c8

After replacing the float and setting the timing to spec. again and with fair weather I took the little motor on a seven mile trip to the Island and back yesterday....it ran flawless and starts the best...Idles the best..and its much faster than had hoped.
My boat is a antique homebuilt aluminum 14' jon thats 55" across the bottom!!, my only complaint is that she was hard to stear at WOT but with a wide bottom I expected that....oh and she was trimmed in as far as I could go, trimmed out is not an option, 50lb+motor, me at 250lb and a 6 gallon of fuel= about 350+ pounds at the stern, I used a trolling motor, battery and anchor for ballest up front.
