Hi all,
I have a 4.3 v6 vortec which has a delco est ignition. Would there be any tangible benefits to moving to an MSD ignition? From what I’ve read, they don’t seem to alter timing much other than setting low advance for easy starting, so doesn’t look like there’s be much in power gains, but the multiple/more powerful sparks could offer some fuel economy gains...

Anyone had any experience installing them?

I don't see any benefit in changing
Several have msd but there have also many which have had problems with them.

yes, your wallet will be lighter by the weight of a few hundred dollars. however from a performance standpoint, its a step backwards
