I in the market for a new boat. Some of the websites have the ability to price out a new boat with all the options. What would be a ballpark idea of how much off this MSRP i would be able to buy the boat for? Bob

Bob - I think you wil find that there is no such thing as a guideline % off of MSRP that is meaningful as there is in automobiles. Much depends on location, competition and time of year. Many will tell you that the best deals are to be had at boat shows on the last day of the show. Other than that I think you are on your own.

On-line shopping is the second step in the buying process. The first step is to determine what you want (limit your choice to one, two, or three boats maximum). Failure to do this will pull you away from your goal and you will make a costly mistake. Once you have three boats of interest, price them at a couple of dealers. Make sure you price the exact same boats. Then go online to see what you can find. If prices seem significantly less on-line, it may be because shipping and prep is not included, different engines are packaged, etc. Armed with this information you should get an idea of what the MSRP is VS actual sale price. Accessories can add up in a hurry so make sure you compare apples to apples. Don't hesitate to look at what are called "non-current models". These are often very good buys, especially if the boat has an odd grouping of options or may have a lack of options. Who knows -- it might be exactly what you are looking for but nobody else wanted. Again, compare the price of the non-current with the exact same new model.

agree with Silvertip, buying last years model, that has been on the dealers floor plan, can be a real advantage. he been paying interest on it, and can't bring in new stock until it's gone. look at the options, stereos, vhf's, fish finders, trolling motors etc, can be installed by you at a great savings.

Tahoe Boats does not discount pricing at all. The price you get online is what you will pay for the boat at the dealer. Now, they may throw in an extra warranty or maybe a coast guard package (PFDs, lines, flares, whistle, etc)., but they won't discount the price.

Off msrp...the best you can expect under normal conditions is 25% on hull/motor combo and 30-100% on options. Anything in between is where you make deals.
