Muffs on a Mariner??

Didn't get any posts on other forum--So I'll try here--I have a 20hp.Mariner OB that I'd like to crank,but the inlet isn't round will round ones work??Plus it's right on top of cav.plate,so I thought maybe it's due to the age,it's a 1976(I think)Guess they were rectangle back then. If you have an idea,I'd love to hear it.thax,dude11

I would put it in a half of barrel or garbage can or something with muffs it might catch air.

trash barrel or the square muffs,,,you'll be fine

thax guys,I didn't know they even made square muffs.Guess I'll wait till I finish the transom then I can use a tank.
