Muffs, who still makes a good pair?

Years ago I purchased a number of the round style flushing muffs. I broke my last pair the other day.

What I am looking for is a round style muff that is made from very soft pliable rubber. This style provides a better seal especially when useing with an anti-freeze pump for certain winterizing applications.

The round muffs I seek would most preferably be made with a compound similar to that used by Yamaha brand in their rectangular muffs.

Moeller is not acceptable, Sea choice is barely acceptable. Does any one who is familiar with these brands know of one that I might try?

Note to Mods...I know you all sell muffs....if the ones you all sell are acceptable I would be more than happy to buy them here...with that said I hope I did not break any rules, I just don't want to go through the hassle of buying several pairs and then returning because they will not work for me. I would prefer someone to say "yep, know the sea choice ones and brand X is softer and more likely to suit your needs..."

Up until last year I had been using the pair I bought in 1984. They leaked a lot and were problematic for the uses you cited. They didn't wear out, they were alwauys that way. Since my son kept borrowing them I broke down and bought a new pair. The new ones were SeaChoice and I was amazed how well they sealed. I told my son he could keep the old ones, but I didn't tell him how good the new ones were.

I use them on a Mercruiser Alpha.

If the rubber parts are made in china I'll bet they don't last long as it appears to me the chinese cut corners on their rubber quality. I bought a 3/8"x50' HF air hose and in less than six months I had to swap ends with it because the outer sheath started peeling off. This was in my garage and never saw the sun.

Yeah, I don't pump many but there are a few exceptions. Some times it is necessary. The mercruisers with the stupid drain set up for example, you dont know if one side of the block or manifold is sand blocked because all the water comes out one place. So I drain them, run 5 gal or so of anti-freeze through them, then drain them again. Oh, and charge a premium... Couple hundred boats a year and haven't lost one yet...knock on wood...
