Today is a very special day for me. This marks the day me and my wife first got together. We started "talking" when we were 14 years old. She was officially asked to be my girlfriend on this day (at the age of 15). We married at the age 17 and have been blessed with two healthy boys. I?m 30 years old. I can?t believe I have spent half my life with my wife. Some people don?t believe in love at first sight but I?m here to tell you it does exist. The school I went to had over 2000 ninth graders so we never saw each other until I got some of my classes changed ( I was a pain in the arse so the principal separated me and some of my buddies). We spent that whole period just staring at each other and I knew there was something special to her.
We have always been faithful in every sense to each other. I actually love her more today than I ever have.
It is weird to know someone that knows every single thing about you but it makes us understand each other easier.
I?m still thankful that principal switched my classes.

Re: Mushy Story

Congratulations. Sounds like you got a keeper too. I first met my future wife when I was 17. She was just one of a group of friends that got together on the weekends. We didn't start dating until after I got out of the Marine Corps when I was 22. Got married at 25, and and we'll celebrate our 33rd anniversary next month.

Re: Mushy Story

I know there is some happily divorced fellows here. For me its reassuring to hear other cases like mine. Many people told me it would not last for long because we were so young. I knew it was because they had not found the
right woman why they felt that way.
If my wife quit lending out my stuff she would be perfect. We cant have it all I guess:)

I enjoyed reading your story!
However, there's not a chance in Hades I'm turning loose of my best girl when she's 17. I figure she can start dating when she's 50 or 60 and I'm in the nursing home.:p
I wish you many more happy years with your wife---sounds like you've got something really special and have the brains to appreciate it!

Hay that's my wife's and mine life story;). We did the same thing. Got together back when we were 15 and been together ever since. We were talking about this the other night. We have been together longer than i lived with my parent's at the age of 13 (that's another story)when i was 29. We now have been with each other for 29 years and life just keeps getting better.

Re: Mushy Story

JB,
Being a father myself I can understand why you want your daughter to stick around as long as possible.
I guess my father in-law got tired of seeing me at his house. I did my best to win the future in-laws over also. I would be at their house mowing the grass cleaning the garage helping them paint or whatever it took to be over at their place.
I quit school (which I dont recommend) and started working at a department store. I moved into a garage apartment that belonged to a neighbor (she charged me a whopping $125 a month all bills paid). It was hard to convince her parents this was an adequate place to start a family but they knew as soon as she turned 18 she was going to move in with me regardless. Her parents agreed on just letting her do what she felt was right (no way I would let my kids do that). My father in-law threw us a little wedding and asked me to please not let him down. And like the saying goes, the rest is history.

Re: Mushy Story

My wife and I met and started dating in High School. I joined the Navy in 1968 and married in 1970. we are still at it and still in love. Congrats to all the people who know what real love means and know how to work out differences. Some of the young people need to figure out that life isn't always a bed of roses but with some work you can plant some and have them around for a long long time.
