I'm wondering if anyone owns a Mustang automatic inflatable life jacket with HIT and if you ever went into the water, did it inflate like it's supposed to do. I'm thinking of buying one for me and one for my son. We never wear our life jackets but I would like to start doing the right thing so I'm thinking a very light jacket would be used by us. I've read about automatic ones with the "pill" and how they sometimes prematurely inflate due to wetness, humidity, etc. so that's why I'm looking at one with HIT. Comments?

I'm looking into getting a pair of them. I think the newer ones work off a change in pressure and not moisture. You can probably Google that before I will..

I've had one for a couple seasons. Very comfortable, so I tend to wear it most of the time even on the dock. Figured when it gets time to replace the cartridge I'd jump in the water before hand just to try it out, but that won't be for another 3 seasons preferably. Oh, it actually still does have the salt pill as the trigger. Just has a valve preventing water from getting in to trigger it unless it's under pressure.
