My 125 horse force wont start I need help

the boat has been setting for a year the old owner had it winterized just before he parked it .It is a 18 ft 8 inch 1984 bayliner with a 125 hp force engine on it.I pumped 26 gallons of fuel out of the on board tank.i was told to run the higher octane fuel in it but now that i have been reading on this forum i know that was a waste of money any way.here is where the problem startedthe boat started rightup once i figured out to push in the key trick.but i could not get it to go into gear with out dying i was told to get this spray from the local boat shop to spray in the carb and it would solve my problem guess what it didnt ha ha .soe i went got some carb cleaner soaked the carbs one with the bowl gaskets off at a time hocked all the linkage back where it was before now it wont start at all I NEED HELP what do I do now

sounds like either you didnt get carbs back together right or you soak with needle and seats so no seats are swelled up and not letting the fuel through. does it even try to pop . maybe see if u can get it to fire off with starting fluid NOT RUN and that will determine if your problem is in linkage or a fuel issue . do this and get back to me I will help you . oh by the way go to this site www.hotfile.com and see if you can get a repair manual it is a free download pdf file . i have a 85 85hp force and your manual and mine should be the same . and it was free yes FREE so do it . this will help you with your linkage proble . and dont tell everyone about this site i want it to stay free downloads for future problems i have with other engines lol. i will be waiting for a reply with your info on ur issues

if you have problems getting the manuel i can fax or email the controls and cable [portion of it this will help alot
