Today, I finally pulled the belly tank from my boat. On the tank, there is writing in a sharpie with the numbers;
42
31
11
So I am thinking (and I measured it as well)
42 inches
31 inches
11 inches
Figuring this as the size, and figuring things out, I am THINKING the math equation below is how many gallons of fuel my tank is.... Is my 7.418 factoring number correct for figuring out how many gallons the tank is?
(42 divided by 12 = 3.5) ~ 3.5
(31 dividied bt 12 = 2.583) ~ 2.58
(11 divided by 12 = .916) ~ .92
3.5 * 2.58 * .92 / = 8.3076 * 7.418 = 61.6257768 (62 gallons)
By the way, I have been to Tempo, Moeler and other sites and cannot find the exact size of the tank in my boat or any real large tanks for that matter ... In addition, I have approximately 12 to 14 inches of additional space forward of the existing fuel tank in the floor that is just dead space and I was also looking to get a larger tank so I can have more fuel for offshore trips ..... any help..???
