My boat needs Gimbal Gear and Belo Housing.

The guy recommended the shift cable kit also be changed when the Gimbal and Belo housing are changed. Can anyone vouch for this.

My boat had a shimmy and a knocking sound when idle.

If he changes everything it's is about $885. If he skips the shift cable kit, it will run me $625. Does this sound fair?

But,...
Not changing the shift cable while the transom is apart is Foolhardy,...
Maybe even down right Foolish...
