so I am finishing up my first resto project I completely gutted a 15' open bow and re did everything It was so much fun but now that its winding down Im already looking for a new project. One of my friends at work mentioned he wanted to get rid of the boat in his back yard it needed seats and a tune up new battery ect. so my ears perked engine has good compression floor is solid comes with a trailer, he almost had me sold at 100 bucks to come get it and it was mine when I asked if he had the registration....if he has it he doesnt know where it is. so my question is is getting a new registration fr a boat possible? if it is, is it as annoying and lengthy as getting a title for a car? I would enjoy another project lord knows I bought way too much of everything and have enough to re paint and re apholster 2 more boats lol what do you all think?

check with the registration agency, also he can get a duplicate by using the registration numbers of the boat. he just has to apply for a lost title. and yes it is very addictive. i have 2 under restoration now, and possibly buying 2 more by monday.

gcboat, going thru there will not get him the title to the boat, it only identifies the manufacturer. the present owner has to be able to produce the title. and the easiest way is a duplicate title. or follow the chain back to the last register owner. i have to do it all the time in florida, sometime is have to register them as Homemade, as the link of owner ship is dead.
