That Motor is from the 80's. My uncle had an 83 model Glastron with the same motor with identical colors on the cowling and it was purchased new. You got a good deal and looks like the boat was kept under a shelter!

Our first was a 72 V 187/ 135 Johnson from the original Texas Glastron. Since then the Brand name was moved to MInn by OMC and Genmar also now defunct. Name has gone to Alabama???

Your "that guy" now. One day I'll try and sell a $2000 boat and someone will offer $500!! Then they will tell me some story about their buddy who got a boat just like this for $100. I'll assume they are lying and that "that guy" doesn't exist.

On a side note I've been that guy before and thought now I can sell this thing and make some $$$. The problem is if you sell for $2-3K you will end up buying another boat the same value as the one you just sold. Unless you think you can be that guy again and again.

As for getting the package for $99, I tried but we figured the state should get a nice even number for sales tax. At first I offered the kid $25 and he said OK, his dad was the one that said $100. As far as selling it, I'd have to be nuts to think that I would ever be "that guy" again, I'm a hard working American and sweet deals don't come around that often.

I must admit this forum/website is an excellent source of information for a first time boat owner.

Anybody have their favorite online place to shop for items...vinyl, bunk rollers, gauges, etc.? Seems like some places are more for shipping than the item costs.
