I have been reading through this forum for 2 weeks trying to find info on my new old 1972 Winner Bimini which we purchased 3 weeks ago, so much information here!

I have worked on automobiles for 30 years and this is my first boat, much different and hard to find information on it. I have tons of questions and hope you don't mind helping me with some. I will post some pict's soon as I can figure out how.

Thanks for the info, I have tons of questions so I will post in the other categories. I wish to get her back to 100% original as the engine cowl has been replaced with a large rear deck that consumes much space.

I have searched for original pict's of my boat for several weeks with no luck. I found some on this site of a outboard Bimini and a inboard with no interior photo's. Any idea where some good photos can be found?

Thanks

The interior flooring and side panels appears to be original, seats have been re-covered. I would eventually like to get rid of the rear bench/deck that someone added to get the boat back to original.

Anyone know of a boat salvage yard or somewhere I could find the original engine cowl?

Thanks for any help,

www.fiberglassics.com in the library forum under fiberglass boats you will find Winner. There is some info on 1973 where it's listed. Nothing on 1972.Unless you find a another Winner with a cowl you probably could search for a 100 years and never find one. They are not like vintage cars where parts are all over the place and reproduced if popular enough.I would guess if you want the jump seats next to the motor box cover you will have to make one out of wood, use sound deadner and reupholster it the best you can.

Your pics show a rear seat. A bimini is a canvas top, sometimes referred to as a convertible top because that's what the older boats had..

Winner had a boat model named Bimini for several years "back then".

The model of his boat is a Bimini ,he was spot on in what he posted. It looks the way you responded,,, if you just glanced at what he wrote.

I appreciate the link, I will do some research. Currently the motor box cover is just plywood without any sound deadening material which results in a lot of engine noise. Since I am not familiar with boats any ideas of what type of material to use that would hold up to the heat of the engine and humidity would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help,

This is the problem I have trying to search for info for my Bimini as the tops come up as results. The boat originally had a Bimini top also but not now.

The plywood bench was added by a previous owner and not original, I would like to eventually get it back to original as the bench is big and takes up a lot of space in the Stern.

This is the only photo I could find of a Bimini which is a outboard with the seats in the back. Maybe they didn't make many of my model as I can't find much info on them.

Do you know of any big boat salvage yards that may have parts for old boats?

Any deadener is better than nothing. Even foil faced insulation would work. They probably sell it on this site or places like Jeg's , which is cars, but the sound proofing will, work and be cheaper than something that says marine on it. As long as you have in and out vents heat and humidity should not be a issue.

Try bumping around on Jegs.com and start out by putting- sound- into the search icon. All sorts of different choices. Or just buy a 4x8 x 1" foiled face insulation from a box store ,about 18-20.00, and get the correct adhesive if you can't screw it or bolt it on the doghouse [ use fender washers if you go that route.]
