To change the oil, you suck it out of the dipstick. So you need a pump to get the oil out.. You don't change it out of the drain plug in the oil pan, you don't want to get the oil into your bilge.

Congrats on the purchase. The 3.0 is a good engine.

Just a work of advise, if you need any engine parts, it's much cheaper to find them on the internet (ebay, ebasicpower) than buying from a dealer. Don't use car parts on it.

Thanks. Ya i bought a pump today :) but the tubes look to big to go into the dipstick hole....

so i cant use the cap/rotor/condenser i got from orielly's? they have a Sierra book that crossed everything over

I'd stay away from O'riellys for boat parts, particularly electrical parts (distributor caps, starters) and most especially fuel lines. The lines you got, although pretty, are probably not marine rated fuel lines. A coast guard guy or hard-assed marine patrol or other water cop could send you back to the dock if he catches you running non rated fuel lines in an inboard.

FYI
I found out my outdrive is a MC-1 or a mercruiser type 1

I was going by the year of your boat.....but like everything marine,
its not etched in stone.
So today I learned something new.

Ok gentlemen..

I took the boat out on Sunday (fathers day) it ran GOOOOOD
however i cant seem to get it to plane out.. the bow rises and rises but wont go down.. and i am trimmed all the way down... then all of the sudden the boat will list to the left or right real heavy and scares the SH!T of me so i slow down and it straightens out...

I got to scared to ram it full throttle...

any suggestions? I am thinking about getting a hydrofoil stablilizer SE Sport 200 or Sport 300

A boat is not like a car. You need to give it a good amount of gas (perhaps even all of it) to get it out of the "hole" and up on plane. Once it's up on plane you can back off considerably and still stay up there. That motor should have plenty enough power to plane that boat. We definitely aren't at a point yet where we should be talking about adding on hydrofoils and what not. I think you were just not giving it enough throttle and get out of the hole and were just plowing along. And yeah, boats handle pretty bad and sometimes scarily when they're plowing.

I floor my 19.5 foot 3.0 4 cyl almost always, it jumps right out of the hole.
