two questions

1 Where did the appartment complex go?

2 did you drill core samples out of the transom? might think about doing it before you get to far along on the paint.

just curious

Hi there! I like your boat! Has basic lines and is kinda cute! Reminds me of my first resto altho your hull looks simpler to work on! I'm with seamorewater on checking out the transom. If it's anything less than awesome I would replace it! Your boat design looks like it would make the job a piece of cake. Any plans on how you will finish up the inside?

Feel free to check out my 14' trihull resto on my "completed project boat" link below.

i moved it to my brother in laws house, I started on the grinding and it made waaaayyyy too much noise.

Also transom is tip top

the inside will have the middle boxes fitted with flush mount hatches and on the front a 5' casting deck with a big flush mount hatch. The rear will be a bench seat that doubles as a cooler.

as far as a motor i am looking for a 25-40hp

Man it must have taken some effort to move that appartment complex!!!:D

looks can be disceaving when it come to transoms. Did you take a sample of the inside close to the floor or hull? it can look ok and feel ok and sound ok but still have rotten wood in it. You dont have to drill all the way through just far enough to get wood chips and see what condition the chips are in just trying to deter a redo in a couple of years. yes i am persistant but been there and made that mistake already.

i did the 4 outside and inside corners as well as 3 down the middle. I couldnt believe it is still solid and clean. It must have been redone less then a few years ago

and yes the complex was a nightmare to move :) :) :)

Looking good man. I am currently working on a very similar project myself. 14.5' fiberglass boat. I'm going to start my own resto thread tonigh after I go work on the boat some, just been lazy.

I wish I was as lucky as you with the transom, just got done with that.

What are your plans for for your bilge pump if you are going to be using one? That's been a head scratcher for me.

I will be running a bilge pump. It will be a simple pump on a float switch going to a bulkhead in the transom or piping it up and over the transom. Probably just going to go up and over. Its only 15" of head pressure so it shouldnt make that much difference.

Any new updates on the build?

What kind (brand) paint did you use on the bottom of the boat?

Looking good man.
