I have a 23' cuddy cabin Grady White in a slip on the Long Island Sound. They say hurricane Isabel is possibly coming close to us. This is the second year I own a boat, never gone through any major storms. Is there anything you guys can tell me to help prepare for it? I'm a little nervous! I see news clips with boats on top of houses after these things!! It doesn't have a hard top but it does have a full canvas enclosure.

If you get hit by this one, (bouncing around between a catagory 4 and 5) it could be bad. Real bad. If it were me, and they were sure we would be hit, I'd put the boat on the trailer, hook it to my truck and leave.

Good luck!

If you leave it in the water, put out plenty of bumpers, take the canvas off, double up the lines, get it as far from the dock as possible, and leave room in the lines for the tidal surge.I am on the great south bay and too large for me to trailer home.I am considering paying a hauler to take it home.Good Luck to us both!!!! charlie
