I left my fishfinder on for a week and I haven't been back to the boat yet but will go tomorrow and am expecting to find a dead battery. I purchased a Schumacher XC103 battery charger with engine start assist and plan on trying to jump start the battery on board. I also purchased a 100' 14 gauge extension cord to plug in the charger to the house. I'm new to boats. Is this a crazy plan since it's floating in the water? My next question is: How do I know if my engine has the capability to recharge the battery after I jumpstart? The boat is a 2007 Sweetwater Tuscany 2080 pontoon with a 60 HP Yahama 4 stroke outboard.
