Here is a pic of the hook I have. Using a 4' straight edge I can get quite a bit of my finger through the space. Say 1/2 to 5/8". It is where the rollers from my trailer sit. How much will this affect performance?

Is the hook right in the middle of the hull? Don't know if the roller on the trailer would cause this if there was no other problems with boat. Broken or rotten stringer mabe?
If the roller is the culprit I would be changing to a bunk trailer in a hurry.

I am going to be changing to bunks when I get it fixed. I am
replacing the floor and the stringers first, then take care of
whatever hook is left. The boat runs more nose down at speed
than I remember. The last few years have seen alot(400+ miles
of washboard and potholes), of trailering on rough roads in the
interior of British Columbia. I think the constant pounding has
done the damage.

I never understood the need for a roller trailer. I wonder if there is anyone out there that would rather use them.
Is there some advantage that I may be missing?

If you frequent ramps that are poor, rollers can be an advantage. But they are hard on boats, no doubt.

What about using those Roller Bunks like are sold in a certain catalog? I bet those would help and not damage as much as a roller. Lot's of small rollers on a bunk.
