What happened? While riding today we suddenly ran over shallow water & hit a log. It really jerked to boat & sudden slowing the engine.
Afterwards I noticed the oil pressure dropped to about 10 or 15 lbs but continued running fine. We slowly drove to a sandy island and got out and played in the water a while.
I checked all around the outdrive and checked the oil level which was good.
Got ready to leave and nothing happened.
Precisely nothing happened with the instruments. The batteries are good.
The bilge pump stopped and the blower stopped. The engine does nothing.
I jumped the solenoid on the starter & the engine turned over well without firing.
No fuses in the dash burned. I pushed & pulled on the plug wires and the coil wire, coil wires connected.
I did not remove the distributor cap..
help help!

Check your battery cable ends, the hard jerk may have broke one of the connections. Have a battery switch?

Also make sure the main wire harness plug AKA cannon plug to the engine is fully pushed in.

I pushed the red circuit breaker inside the engine compartment, I don't think it is hooked up to anything anyhow. I pushed and pulled on all the spark plug wires and the coil wire. All the wires to the two batteries are tight and I do have a selector that works. Going out to look at the ignitions switch though not sure what to look for!

With your blower not working, tells me that it not something that is exact to the motor, it's to main power to the battery (+/-). If blower, horn, lights all work but nothing on the motor, then its not main power and would be toward the motor only

Thank you all, you know how it is when something does not work and you have to repair it SAP !
It is repaired! A standard fuse in the large red wire from the ignition switch was burned and the end stayed inside of the fuse cap. Replaced it and everything works now, cranked up and ran great.
I assume the oil pressure gauge is electrical, when the fuse blew it stopped too. I have a secondary oil pressure gauge in the engine compartment but it never ran again so I could not verify at the time.
The depth finder now works and is on that same wire.
I would sure like to know what caused this in case it happens again but in all the years I've had this boat, this is a first!!
Just that jolt I suppose.
Thanks again!
