Yep. I'm especially happy about this one. Been too long since there's been a john boat in my back yard.;)

Early "inheritences" are the best kind :). I was given a like new 1937 Savage model 99 rifle by my moms father, who never hunted but had a small gun collection, when I was in my early 20s. I shot a nice trophy whitetail w it the next season and his house was the first place I stopped on my way home to show him the buck, and several more over some yrs. He was so excited to see the big deer and I was very happy to see his joy and thanked him again each time for giving me this fine firearm. I believe that boat can navigate some of the waters you use your inflatables on, If you can get it to and from the river!!

I finally got around to looking at the sticker. Turns out it's a 1651. Biggest john boat I've ever had. I'm all atwitter. I've been sending my uncle pics as I get things back in order.

Re: My "Inheritance"

Update time. The motor has a new impeller and carb kit. The trailer has new bearings and new winch handle. I filled her with water to the bottom of the center bench and only found one leak, which I was easily able to get to and repair. The drain tube turned out to be shot because a previous owner, ahem:facepalm:, allowed the battery to bounce up and down on it in transit, so she's at the welder now getting a new one. That'll be a C note, and I told him to go ahead and weld in a piece of bar stock or something to keep the battery in its place. He said he'd do that for twenty bucks. The prop was toast, so I just ordered a new Solas Amita on good ol' iboats for $77 including freight. Can't beat that. Once I get her back from the welder and slap the new prop on it should be splashy time. Can't wait.:D
