A little story for all of you. I finaly found an installed my exhaust manifolds ($1000) and decided to make sure all was good, since water had gotten into the cyl. Took boat out into the river and ran great... Until temp gauge went from 160 to 0. raised cover and breather hoses to flame arrester had water mist coming out of them. Rushed back to pier and checked oil. As expected 1 1/2 qts over with milk! Load on trailer and pulled up the ramp, Pow! tire blows out! Truck jack too tall for axle and spring drops too much to go to frame. Anyway, got spare on(one thing I did right) and went home to inspect. Pulled head looking for where water had damaged the head when manifold leaked, nothing? Decided I'd pull the port side head, and low and behold a 4" crack right above center cyl. So, this weekend I'm pulling my motor and in a few weeks(when a reman arives) I'll be installing a new motor! Ain't boating a blast!!!!!
Guess next time, I'll make sure it's winterized properly, even if I think I got all the water out!
