I wouldnt recomend starter fluid for a two stroke. It dosen give any lubrication to the parts that need it and can fry your engine. Sounds like you have a carb problem to me. They arnt that hard to take apart and clean or even rebuild if it needs it. If you take it apart and clean it and it still wont start try spraying the intake with fuel mix instead of starting fluid.
