My neighbor and his destroyed "new boat"

My neighbor just bought a new gregor 16' boat and a johnson 30HP tiller engine,on his first trip he let his 12 year old son drive. Sad for him he went full bore into a bridge post after he lost control, the engine and boat were destroyed the lower end just fell off into the water and the boat split down the main hull weld. the only thing left intact is the center bench and the floor and sides near it.<br /><br />stupid idiot<br /><br />Mike

It begs the question...was he and son ok? I guess we can pretty much assume they weren't wearing PFDs.
