I had a question about the anchor locker latch. It's a barrel bolt latch that barely makes contact with the catch and is not holding the lid down while underway. It's a dangerous situation as the hatch flaps into my kid's faces. What are my options to replace this latch? Is it possible to put a flush mount latch in? What other tips can you give to a novice boat owner. I have the 5.7 Volvo Penta and get a top speed of 40 MPH. I didn't get a users manual with the boat. We figured out the gas gauge is not working since it stilled showed over half full and I put 42 gallons in.

I think you should post some pictures of the latch in question. 40mph seems kinda low with that motor, you should check it with a gps. what prop are do you have on there..like the diameter and pitch and what was your rpm at that speed?
Sharp looking graphics on there....be sure to use a wax that wont mess up vinyl.

Wow what a sharp looking boat. You should be able to adjust the latch by loosing the screws. After coming on plane did you try trimming up drive?

Re: My new 2003 Glastron DX 215

I figured out the latch and we got everything else done how we wanted it. New blue bimini and cover are installed. Our first trip to the river didn't end so well. The longest trip in the boat and on the way back I lost top end power. I couldn't get more than 2500 rpm and 20 mph. When I got home I checked the oil and throttle cable which are both normal. I started it on the hose, disconnected the throttle cable at the carb and was able to rev the engine as normal. Any way the engine was experiencing vapor lock?

The top speed is at about 4k rpm. I'm not sure about which prop it is but I think it's probably the stock one.
