That's an OMC SeaDrive. They were a unique animal and the boat was probably specifically designed for it. You'd best bet would be to install a new motor bracket.

http://www.nbssportfishing.com/vBfo...inless-engine-bracket-revised-3-30-07-002.jpg

They're quite pricey new but perhaps you can find a deal on a used one. Otherwise you're probably looking at some major transom modifications and adding a splashwell.

Yep... This ^^^.

Nice boat. The boat looks in good enough shape that the transom/bracket issue might be worth fooling with... Good luck.

Thanks I had a good mechanic look at it and he told me the boat is dry and the transom sound good and strong no cracking when he move the motor up and down a few times he also told me about the engine just to start working with it I need it a clutch o something like that and a new starter that will cost me some money so i made my mynd to replace it all

About the rest of the boat to keep u guys inform and up to speed with what I have been doing the tank had water so I took it out to clean it and dry it also I found a small hole on the side now I have to see if I fix it o replace it with a smaller one with the center console I Decided to replace all the wires and connections just to have a Peace of mind

Re: my new project wellcraft 180 fisherman

thats a nice bracket, I like the grab handles on the side. Nice touch. the bracket is the way to go for sure.

I have a buddy with the same boat, but open transom, no old sea drive stuff. I really dont like open transoms. I told him that we should pull the motor, cap the transom, and install a bracket. With the added space on the transom, mold in a custom bait well.

Again, looks good!

The motors themselves aren't bad at all. It's a standard OMC (Johnson/Evinrude) V4 powerhead. I think the issue is there really aren't any parts available for the SeaDrive bracket and associated mechanisms. If your tilt and trim work, get it running and go!

Re: my new project wellcraft 180 fisherman

I own an 18 Fisherman with a Sea Drive and did a similar project several years ago. I converted it and used an Armstrong custom made motor mount. I put a new 115 E-Tec on the boat. I WOULDN'T DO IT AGAIN!! It was quite costly and the value of the boat/motor/trailer will never be what you invest in it (it is still an old boat).

I have a solution for you. I still have the complete OMC SeaDrive motor and bracket along with all the misc parts, prop, shift/throttle and hardware. It ran when I took it off the boat. It has never seen salt water. I purchased the boat from the original owner who only used it on Lake Erie. I have only used it on lakes in Minnesota. Let me know if you are interested. I made a custom mount from a pallet and some scrap lumber to store/ship it. I also have a factory service manual and a parts catalog.

Oops, no selling or soliciting on the forums, might want to re-read the forum rules 1000Lakes.......

Were the 2 in the front, the over the side drains for livewells?

The 2 in the back might be bilge drains or bilge pump outlets?

Where do the drains go on the interior? Aren't there hoses attached to them?

If they're in good shape & sealed to the hull, they shouldn't 'leak' and let water back in the boat.........

If you remove them, you'll need to patch the holes & cover the patches.

Re: my new project wellcraft 180 fisherman

well one of the back ones had a hose witch it looks like it was connected to the drain on the floor the other ones don't have anything the floor drain have some type of ball in it i think it works like a valve i have no room to put the drains to drain in to the bilge
