Well...... went up to the lake to do one last outing with the pontoon and pull it out for the winter. Weather was great in the lower 70's.
So.....just me and my son went tooling around the lake a bit and headed back to the loading dock and all of a sudden heard a big pop while we were making a turn. Holy crap no steering! Luckly we were in the no wake zone.
So.... I pop the hatch to the motor and everything looked normal, crawled under dash everything looked nomal...... It's gota be the steering cable inbetween the wheel and transom.
So...... I poped out the pin on steering arm going into the transom and stuck a screw driver in the hole. Told my son......
you do the throtle and i'll steer the boat with my foot.
So...... Here i am in the motor hole with one foot on the screw driver and the other on the exhaust riser.. steering the boat back to the launch ramp. (About a half mile) It took us several attemps to hit the dock.. But low and behold we goter in there.
So.....He has to go (Half mile up the road) to get the Truck/trailer and bring it back to the loading dock. We finaly got it loaded a half hour later!
Another Day in Paradise at the lake! You just gota Love It!
Happy Boating everyone.
