Yes and an ipad won't breech the deductible.

I checked with Progressive over the weekend just to make sure of this. As I thought, the deductible is not used for personal effects.

All marine insurance is expensive coverage, as the average boater doesn't use his equipment more than a few times per year. Very few insureds have adequate Liability coverage, and they're especially under insured on Property Damage. People that are injured while on the water are quick to sue, and the average claims paid out are very high.

I have towed many people over the years, and never complain about it. My best insurance now is a cell phone to call friends to tow me in--if needed. There again, we live on a 16,000 acre lake.

See the following website for a large online salvage auction that liquidates boats (and RV's): https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Search.aspx It's pretty interesting.

MOST MARINE INSURANCE POLICIES ARE INADEQUATE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS' NEEDS. INTERNET INSURANCE COMPANIES OFTEN LACK THE FEEDBACK OF AN INSURANCE AGENT THAT LOOKS OUT FOR THE NEEDS OF HIS CUSTOMERS. CHECK WITH YOUR AUTO INSURANCE AGENT FOR HIS SUGGESTIONS AND PRICING PRIOR TO PURCHASING ANY BOAT INSURANCE.

Do you have a personal liability umbrella? Exposures increase manyfold on the water....!

Check out BoatUS insurance. I have a policy with them. The coverage is far superior and the premium is less. I have a $10,000 agreed value policy. Spill coverage is $874,000. My deductible is $200, and $1,000 if the loss is caused by a "Named Storm". I have Premium Gold tow coverage and trailer assist coverage. My trailer is covered with replacement for $4,000. They will tow me to my home port or repair facility free. They will go up to 125 miles off shore without additional fees. Roadside assistance for my truck is included with trailer assist.

I would certainly accept help from a fellow boater; and if I tow a fellow boater, I do not accept "gas money" nor any payment other than "thank you"... Well... Maybe a "Thank you very much";)
