I think as far as seating goes you're going to have room for either 2 back to backs or 2 pedestal seats and a bench along the back. I'd prefer the latter though there probably isn't going to be an off the shelf solution for the bench. I did 2 back to back's in mine with 2 jump seats in the back but it really doesn't look like you're going to have room for that. Click on the link in my signiture to see what I put in. Sorry but I lack a good overall shot.

Re: My Project 14' something (true bargain boat)

yay well not quite yet after fiddling and cleaning everything i began to start pulling, first and only major problem was after it wasnt starting after a few pulls i checked for fuel on the plugs to discover that the plugs were too long and had been hitting the pistons, took them out managed to find some really old ones put them in and just as it was about to go the bloody pull cord snapped hahahahah so i have to wait a couple of days for a new cord to arrive.

Re: My Project 14' something (true bargain boat)

woohooo im nearly there a few things left,
make the seats
paint the engine
paint part of the boat
make the steering (might not bother and just use the tiller)
buy some controls or make some again may not bother
paint the trailer

but on the bright side it floats and the engine is idling, pumping water and engaging gears.

one small question there is scumpy oil (i think) coming out the side of the engine half way up where there is a plate screwed on, any ideas what it si and should i be worried?

cheers Gav

Re: My Project 14' something (true bargain boat)

my seats are nearly there iv finished the frame and all thats left is to finish covering it with the leather,

i will add photos of the inside finished and the seat if anyones interested?

currently all costs including boat and outboard have reached ?155 fingers crossed i wont have to buy anything, possibly a small amount of paint.

oh one more question when i bought my engine it came with half of a 25hp, if i put the carb of that one onto my 20hp would it make it a 25hp? (probably a stupid question)

Gav, sounds like you are making really good progress with your project boat. You might get a better response to your question about swapping carbs from the 25, if you post that specific question on the J&E forum. Give model numbers from both motors if you have them so the experts can try to look up part numbers. Good luck and keep us posted on your project!

Adding a different carb won't raise your hp.

Hi Noppy!

I have seen what they want for them in Euros in Germany. If they work and are complete, I would say this is a great buy.

Not to pic nits, but have you checked the transom for rot yet? It would be a shame to loose the motor (or the boat) because of a rotted transom. Keep the update coming, you've got a nice little boat there and you're making great progress.

Make sure your control box and cables have the cable ends on them...a necessary but often overlooked and expensive part.

Re: My Project 14' something (true bargain boat)

hi, sorry for the late reply, iv been in scotland on holiday since 24th of july and only just got back.

have checked for rot not there i can half remember the guy saying something about having a huge engine on it when he last used it so i can only assume the metal was just for extra strength

the controls arrived and they did have ends :D there evinrude controls while i was away my bro was very nice and painted the box for me looks really good.

i only have 7 days till my boat has to be ready aggggghhhhhhh, going to plymouth on sunday which was my goal date for completion.

tomo i plan to:
install controls
replace cables holders (old ones are bent)
paint half the trailer
pick up spark plugs and install
(as i nearly bust the engine cus the guy i bought it off had obviously put in random plugs cus i replaced them and they hit the pistons luckily i didnt start it)
possibly finish the seat

only a few things then its just tinkering with bits
