My Mfg caprice finally beat me. I just purchased a newer boat with SOLID floors.
After 2 carpenters cancelled out on me and 2 others said they did not have the time I finally tossed my hands up and found a newer boat with good solid floors.

I have learned one things proper care of a floor goes a long way to keeping a boat in good shape.
Leaves and pine needles leads to water standing and moisture then ants then termites.
he boat had the floors redone but not redone right no epoxy or treated wood so 2 years outside gave me mush floors.

I think the point of my story is get a floor with good solid floors or expect to spend a lot of time cutting wood.

keeping them covered properly, tilted bow up, drain plug out, goes a long way to the life of any boat. something as simple as a pvc frame and a tarp.

I like the simplicity of your pvc frame...what size pvc pipe did you use? I have tried all sorts of purchased gadgets and haven't found one that works right on my boat yet. Maybe I will just make a simple frame like yours for my 18' bowrider.

rbryant1492_mfb, There is no shame in that on your part. Many of us have "been there, done that". The shame lies with the mfg's and PO's, for poor design and neglect. Enjoy the new boat.
