I am new to this forum but I have already learned a TON. I can't believe the wealth of knowledge here. I have so enjoyed perusing this board and looking at all of your projects that I thought I would share mine. I am going into my third season of use with my '66 16' Starcraft. I have a few more upgrades/tweaks planned for this season much of which was learned about here. Here's my photobucket album: http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/ezmobee/Boat Project/

Sorry, not much in the way of progress photos. More before/after kinda thing. Let me know what ya think.

Very nice, ezmobee. I only hope my project turns out looking half that nice.

Excellent work. I like the custom swim ladder the prior owner installed.

Thanks for your comments. I love the swim ladder too. It didn't look like it would hold up well and it has some repair welds on it that I didn't think would last but it's quite sturdy. And we've used it a lot. I did have to replace the rusty bolts in it with stainless.

I'm getting the boat out of storage tomorrow. I'm planning on replacing the old cable and pulley steering with a more modern steering system, adding a tach, and a depth finder.

Ah yes, the trailer. Haven't decided yet when to do that. It looks in worse shape than it really is. And I don't have to tow it far. I live about 20 miles from the river where I use it and once there for the season it stays at my uncle's cabin which is only a few hundred yards from the boat ramp. I am considering switching boat trailers with him this summer and doing some sprucing up on mine.

We called the old color, affectionately, Band-Aid.

Man you really made that a nice boat! My friend and I bought an old 77 17' glasply and we had the head rebuilt and put it all back together and have it running good now we are on to the interior. I hope we can make it look as good as yours.

That thing is cool! The style of the hull really fits the more modern windshield well. The shapes of the older boats is what I like best. Modern boats are too streamline in my opinion. The older hulls really have style and the windshield compliments the older look. It looks like factory. Good job!
