I ordered the SX9510-80 from the iboats website. it says 18'-22', and 150-240 hp. the box they came in has the same part number, but says 16'-20', and 140-225 hp. I have 230 hp in my 19', im sure im fine. but when i ordered i assumed i was in the margin, not at the tail end of it. I should still be fine though, right? its too late to call them, ill try tomorrow.

ya me too, i got lucky and i can keep my boat at work, indoors with me. otherwise, it would sit in storage somewhere and not get anywhere near the attention it does now. i would love to be able to bring it home and have it there, but not gonna happen right now.

redone,

You'll be fine. I have a bigger, heavier boat with a smaller motor (SeaSwirl Striper 2100 DC w/175HP OB), and mine is perfect at the default setting (I think it was the #3 hole.)

If anything, with your stronger motor, at WOT the standard setting 'might' be a little weak. (I doubt it, though, since your boat is lighter). If so, just set the tabs a bit stiffer by moving to a hole farther away from the boat (so the tabs have less leverage on the actuator/shocks).

At anything less than WOT, I don't see that you having a bigger motor would make any difference.

I doubt this matters, since most of the benefits seem to be at slower speeds (getting on plane, cruising, etc), and at higher speeds you'll want them folded up parallel with the water surface, anyway, so they don't force the bow down.

You'll REALLY notice them the first few times you go out. Then it seems just natural that you have a nice riding boat. Everything just becomes smoother and more predictable.

Just don't put the actuator/shocks on upside-down like I did!

BTW, if you bought the 'factory seconds', I defy you to find the 'blemish'.
I think my blemish may have been that one of the holes had a slight bit of too much plastic in the mold which squeezed out and filled one hole a tiny bit. I scraped it off with my thumbnail, so I'm not sure that was it.

Measure twice, drill once,
Jim

yep i got the blemish ones and can't find anything wrong with them. They could have huge scratches on them for all i care. They go underwater after all haha. I figured "blemish" ones would probably go better with my boat  lol.
