In keeping with the theme of the quest for super-powered stereo equipment on boats, I'm now trying to get a mega-wake from my boat.

What can I add to increase my wake size? Would trim tabs help? I mean...I get really tired of having a puny little wake, especially around the launching ramp.

[tongue planted firmly in cheek] :D

CA buddy, I think I have seen the pictures of your boat and it probly won't make a huge wake no matter what you do! :D :D :p
Just make your motor louder to get you some attention :D

Hmm...make my motor louder, eh? You may be right about the wake. My little trihull just doesn't seem to make much of a wake at any speed.

On the other hand, it reacts pretty spectacularly with other people's wakes. I've begun to learn to quarter wakes, not to hit them head on. The worst, though, is when a large wake comes through while you're anchored and fishing.

Flashback: Not to worry. I was being facetious, there. No stereo on my boat.

Yes, at my marina we have the loudish older v-drive houseboats and cruisers. The LOUD , rumpety rump , racing cammed boat. The LOUD stereos. And jerks who see nothing wrong with running them at 3am. I try to do most of my boating during the week and leave the weekends for the p-heads.

Rayjay,

Hey...it's their boat, right? They can do whatever they want to on their boat, right? They've got theirs...the heck with you, eh? [sarcasm switch fully on]

When the marina manager points out the 10pm curfew and the 3 complaints & gone clause they usually straighten up [ somewhat  ]. I think the guy with the loud, rumpety rump gets some sort of "unseemly" pleasure from just hearing his motor run.

I think wake board boats are ruining the shore line on the lakes around here. I guess everybody wants to have there on fun. Just a shame when you look at the shore falling in the lake. :(

You have a point there, JB. I took my brother-in-law out a couple of weekends ago. I couldn't figure out the list the boat was exhibiting. But then I looked at him again. Small boats...big people...bad match.

But it did make the wake bigger, for sure.

I apologize Cat, I have a tendency to over react, I live in Atlanta GA. during the week( still have to make a living) Its loud, noisy, and stinks, traffic is horrendous.. When I get up to the lake, all I want is some peace and quiet..I don't mind the loud music or the wakes, I just ask that folk keep it out in the channel and not near the shore where I am..Those big wakes are hard on the shoreline(erosion) and the stereo's certainly don't add to the peace and quiet.. :D
