Here is my issue...I think i bought a Tee Nee this past fall for $250....I bought new rims and tires right away. It's got the big solid triangle with the winch and the four rollers on each side at the back....The problem is the trailer is set up for a 15 foot boat....and my crestliner 1961 falcon is 14 feet.....so basically the boat is about a foot backwards leaving the boat resting on half of the rollers and the rest of the rollers hanghing beyond the boat..with the engine having to be towed tilted up..I can slide it up all the way but i prefer to have my motor down .Am i correct in thinking that the end of the boat should ideally sit flush with the rollers...within reason of course.
I am thinking to loosen off the winch triangle ,position the boat correctly and then slide the triangle back about a foot so that the boat sits properly on the trailer and the engine can be positioned in the down position.
Secondly, upon closer look once i removed the coupler ( I think thats what its called ) .....at the front of the trailer , the part that fits on the ball i realized it wasnt reallly properly attached and was old , bent and neglected...can i hacksaw 4 inches off and redrill new holes to properly fit the new coupler? My boat is 335 lbs and has a 40 hp evinrude 1970 weighing 135 lbs. I use it to launch it at the cottage....so no cross country runs...lol
