We have a single cyl section of a similar Sulzer in my lab. About 40' overall height. We pull the head/ piston/ crosshead/ rod/ and crank every term. Massive toy! Students learn to rig to perform PM and repair.

I have a 2009 1000' container ship with a 100,000HP Wartsila-Sulser 2 stroke inboard. Current WOT is about 90RPM at 18 knots (measured by GPS),,, but she just won't pop up on plane.

Any prop suggestions?

Tiller steer I would assume.

Now here's a thought... Weld an integral boat hull to the oil pan, bolt a prop on the end of the crank, mount a couple swivel seats to the valve covers and just drive your engine around.

Second thought, maybe it would make a better submarine...
