Hi, could someone help me solve this puzzle? I have this part in my carburetor rebuild kit (6HP RLETB, '93) and it sure looks like it fits in where shown, but it is not on the parts schematic on **********. DSCN0688.jpg

Does this part belong with the carb? The screw is listed as an idle screw, but I don't know if it goes in all the way, or is supposed to be adjustable and the red piece is it's packing.

Hello, when you took it all apart was there one there before?, if not ,it could have been missing,if the exploded view of your card doesnt list it ,yhan u likely dont need it. In my experience carb kits will come with what seems like extra parts , but they are for different variations of your carb on other models of engine, u usually will not use all the parts/gaskets provided.

Re: Mystery part

I looked up your carbs exploded diagram and couldn't see the part in question that comes with the kit. Idid notice that of the three kits i looked at, they all came with that piece, and that carb is the same between 6-20 HP,johnnyrudes, and i couldnt find that part in any of the diagrams, keep in mind some images are very poor and sometimes dont resemble the actual part. From your pics it does look like a good fit, but cant say for sure that it should be there, ill keep looking around see what i can find out, hope this helps.

To be honest, I'm not all that familiar with your carburetor, but I an very familiar with carburetors that do use that part. It goes in a pocket where the idle screw goes in through it. The part provides friction so the idle screw doesn't spin around from vibration.

Obviously not used on your carburetor, so forget you ever saw it.

EDIT: It is NOT item 14. That is a flat fiber washer, acts as a gasket.
