Distributor is in the front of the engine, I'm guessing a Ford 302

so i've heard that in some years, these ford blocks are almost impossible to find parts for? this boat lists as a 1978, any ideas? its the setup i want, but i want a chevy block.

It's a Volvo Penta AQ190, which is a 302 Ford motor. There are NO exhaust system parts available for them.

thanks alot Don, appreciate the info. i remember hearing something about those old fords. say that i wanted to repower with a chevy, i'd need everything from the fywheel foward right?

Including the bellhouse, yes. Engine mounts are probably in a different spot as well, so you'd likely need to seal up the original holes in the stringers and re-drill as needed.

I like Fords, but what I'd probably do is ditch the stock exhaust setup, and find a way to use 302 manifolds from some other application, and just do through-hulls or something. Probably easier to do that vs finding all the parts needed to put a Chevy engine in, plus buying the Chevy motor. Also, being as I own two Lincolns with 302 engines, I'm probably a bit less opposed to owning a Ford motor.
