Naming Ceremony??

I have read through some of the re-naming ceremony threads but haven't come across one for my particular situation. My husband is just about done with the full restoration of his '67 Bertram 20. We have no idea if the boat ever had a name. When he purchased it last July from the marina, the marina had painted it but the short of a very long story, the paint was all sanded off. So what would be the proper procedure(s) in this case. A lot of time, energy and love went into this project and I would really hate to see something happen. A million thanks in advance, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Naming Ceremony??

The key to the renaming is to purge the old name. Perhaps there is some semblance of the old name somewhere, some like to put the vessel name on the throw rings.

Just invite family and friends to the "event", pour a small amount of champagne on her bow, and drink the rest. As long as the boat is loved, she won't mind the new name at all :)

If you live inland and don't have access to a dead sea turtle, and dead crawdad will suffice.
