Nauticus Smart Tabs SX install

I installed these yesterday. The instructions say to choose a location 3 to 5 inches from the outside edge of the transom. The transom straps did not allow me to install in perferred location, so I installed them about 11'' . The boat is a 1900 CC Robalo and has a deadrise of 19 degrees. Is this location ok?? Haven't had a chance to test run yet.

Mine are even closer than that, the hull has a molded in swim platform and the transom has the overhang, the tabs will still reduce planing speed just as well, they say that performancy flat turns are better the farther out you can get them, I didn't care about that slower planing speed is waht I was after and ohh do they work!

Thanks for the responses. Had me a little worried. The tab should not interfer with the transducer.......right?
