Re: Nauticus XS Trim Tab issues
First, I would like to say thanks for provinding me with the contact info, it made it very easy to get ahold of them.
Secondly, I would like to repeat what I said above... I made no previous comments to good or bad service.
Third, my comment of no return phone call was just an update, and I was certainly not trying to "catch" anyone with poor service. It's the last thign I want to receive, and I don't like to complain. I like to get things resolved without getting upset.
Now, with that out of the way... its been a while since I have been on this board because the boat was the last thign on my mind. Lots of things going on at work, hours cut back, wife pregnant, looking for a different style boat... all kinds of stuff.
I called today and spoke with someone, didn't catch a name, but it wasn't John. Reguardless, the person on the other end of the phone was very helpful, nice, and very attentive to my issue.
Why the message was lost, not really an issue a this point.
So, the end result is... I will be gettign the defective upper mount point replaced and shipped to me free of charge. The failure that made me less than impressed by design (I am a Mechanical Engineer) has been re-designed the way I would have. With a Steel insert for the threaded area instead of plastic.
So, great customer service, on going improvement to product, and a no hassle replacement of failed components when a design flaw has been recognized. Can't beat that.
This is important to me because I just traded in my boat on another. This time around its a wake/ski boat that will not need trim tabs. However, my old boat is currently in posession of a friends boat dealership. I want the next owner of the boat to be happy with it and be happy with the dealership. Having a trim tab on there that I know will fail is not a good way to insure either. So, I am doing this to fix the tabs before they sell the boat. I explained this to Nauticus, and they understand. Because, reguardless of what happens, their name is still on the product and don't want it to fail on the next person. So, they are making things right even though they know I am not in posession of the boat anymore.
How about that? Can't beat in in my opinion.
