I have a 1989 Bass Tracker 18ft. The navigation lights work but when the switch is in the up position the bow light is on and the down position stern light is on. Off in middle position. What do I need to do to have them both on at same time?

Thanks David

You may have a missing jumper or bad switch....... on most boats one position is anchor ( stern only ) other position is both.

we need to know how many terminals are on the back of the switch. It should be 3 or 6 then we can find you the diagram for how to wire/fix it. Most probably a 3 with a bad diode.

Not sure if yours is broken or you're wiring up something, but this would be a typical scheme. If the diode was open(not connected etc), as drawn here, it would function(errr, not function)as you have described yours acting .............

I just dropped ya in a 7 Amp diode out of my library drop down list, adj as required.

It also has a toggle for a compass light. But doesn't seem to be hooked to anything. Did they have a real compass on boat or is a name of different light?

Maybe, not sure. Perhaps someone w that boat here knows. Sounds to me more just a "suggestion" the manu. silk screened by/on the switch if that's what you or a dealer wanted to add/do with it as an option and just left it un-wired.
