The navigation light toggle switch on my '96 Ranger r70 will not turn off regardless of which position the switch is in. It is a 3 way toggle up for navigation, middle is off and down for anchor light. I have a push button swith in the bow that operates navigation lights and that does not turn it off. I will take that switch apart tonight and hope that fixes the problem. If I plug the navigation lights in the work regardless of the console switch position. I hope some one here has any ideas

Re: Navigation lights won't turn off

It sounds like one or the other of the switches is stuck (internally) in the NAV position (both lights on). My guess is that the problem will be with the bow push button. Turn off the console switch and then remove the panel the BOW SWITCH is mounted on. Then disconnect the HOT wire going into the switch. If the lights turn off that switch is the problem. If not, replace the wire and the panel and repeat the process with the console switch. If neither of them turns off the lights, then there is a wiring problem but I find that unlikely (although possible).

Yes sir! It was the switch in the bow that was stuck. I turned it off and will order a replacement tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
