Need '88 Maxum 17' I/O engine cover!

Hi, I have a 1988 Maxum boat, serial# USHB76MEB888. The fiberglass engine cover blew out of the boat while I was driving on the New York State thruway, and the the engine cover was destroyed. I wondered if you could help me find a new or used fiberglass engine cover for this boat. I've tried the local maxum dealer in Conesus, NY - but they cannot locate one. I really love the boat,.... can you help me? Thanks for any assistance you can give me. - Sincerely, - John Taylor

Pet Peeve-Another new registrant asking for referrals-no geographical location listed in profile!! <br /><br />Oh, Hi John, Welcome to iboats. Sorry you lost your lid. Seriously, you may have to fabricate. Replacement soft parts, in the marine industry, have a very short lifespan. Unlike automobiles boats are made by the hundreds and maybe thousands and MFGR's have no numerical justification to keep them in production much past the model run. Unless you can round up something thru a boat salvage yard you are going to have to fabricate something. <br /><br />Many here have made new motor covers. Good luck.
