Need 9.8 piston, compatibility question?

I have a 1976 110 9.8 #4544567 and need to replace a piston due to needle bearings failing and marring it up. I've been looking (and still looking) for a used one since new is around $130. Would a piston from Kiekharfer 110 model serial #293802 be the same? The information on the prospect piston is all that is known.

I checked the comp..if the KK says Merc on it, it is the same piston.<br /><br />TMD

The only difference I've seen in the little Merc pistons is that some of the much later ones (from the 1980s) had a dimple in the crown that seemed to be to accomodate new plugs or something. <br /><br />Bottom line is that your 2.9 mil pistons will fit in your 4.5 mil motor....<br />- Scott
