Need it mic'd and bored maybe, might just need honed, dont know. Who is that company that everyone uses?

Compression was 120,120,100 when I tore it down. Decided to go ahead and rebuild it this winter since I have a backup on my boat now.

If you have it torn down, what do the cylinder walls and pistons look like?

They actually look pretty good, but I have not had it mic'd to tell actual wear.

I am doing this not because it really needed it, because it did run very good, but because I plan on putting this old motor on a brand new boat, and I dont want any problems with it.

Don't forget to check ring clearance in sleeves before installing pistons ...here i just look for a boring shop or if honing just buy a 3 blade honer and even slow strokes up and down..don't get me wrong its the best way.

Yep, just do a 3 stone and back and forth line hone it..get a good cross hatch pattern..new stock rings (stick a ring in first and check the end gap (do know what the book calls for off hand..)

Honing top to bottom is very important, you must slowly check whats going on inside as you look for even flow.
