Arthritis finger cramps lifting a 5 pound anchor are getting much worse. Very fast. The old Deckmates where terrible. Sounded like coffee grinders.
The other type with a large hand crank on it was erratic in operation. They are to be used on the 16' Aluminum fish boat With small children on perch fishing trips 100 to 200" from the dock.
Thank you.

Find a cheap working electric downrigger . They pick up 15-20 lb lead weights . Drop anchor with downrigger, leaving anchor line on . While setting anchor ,let rigger wire out a bit more than anchor line . Must free anchor yourself , then rigger it up . You can even change the rigger wire to 3-500 lb test Braided fishing line . Or , better option , Harbor freight, Amazon ( saw them for 70.00. 2000 lb capacity ) Marketplace all have 12 volt winches that could be fastened to a cross board up on the bow , using same board to attach a roller guide for the anchor line . Again you might have to break the anchor free manually, depending on what method you use, do to bottom structure.
