Anyone out there have a 90 hp. John/Rude laying around that is junk-1983 vintage?

I need the bottom carburetor bottom bowl. The part is aluminum and has the fuel inlet (90 degree) plastic piece going into it from the bottom. It is held to the upper carb. housing by four screws going in from the bottom. John from IL,(he's always right) tells me it is part #391755 superceded from 389857.

Thanks.

Just went thru that myself. Broke the fitting trying to remove the fuel line that was cracked. I ordered it from Bombardier for about $65. Hope you have better luck finding a used one than I did.

Re: Need a Carburetor Bowl

We broke one at a race and had to make do with what we had. We used a 90 degree plastic fitting off of a power steering looper and filed down the threads slightly. We got it so it would press in and the partial threads acted like a type of barb. We loctited it in place and made the race. It never did leak and we actually forgot about it until we freshened up the motor.

Just thinking that might give you some other ideas as an alternative to a new bowl if you can't locate a used one.

Good luck!

All,

Thanks very much for the replies. I'll leave it posted and see what happens.

Fortunately, the fitting is NOT broken (yet), it just has some seepage around it-!@*(&&^%. But, we have to be SAFE! Leaking fuel-in any amount, is NOT good.

I might have to get my "engineering" cap on.

Thanks again.
