Need a container to store stuff in the engine area, recommendations?

I'm a first time boat owner with a Larson LX 850, and it has a ton of room in the engine compartment to store stuff, but the problem is there isn't anything to really secure something down. For example, what if something slides and touches the hot engine or gets caught in the belt? I also need something to keep an extra prop, prop wrench, lug nut, and a few extra basic tools. A toolbox seems logical, but it'll just slide around. Is there anything on the market that can somehow be kept in place and store stuff? What do other people with similar boats do? Thanks

Make a box out of StarBoard sheets. Some boats have room for one on each side of engine compartment.

Welcome aboard.

Buy a plastic tub with cover at walmart and they have many sizes. It will be cheap and replaceable ........ saves work too! [making your own will be stronger as Philster suggested ;)]

You can mount that directly of mount a tie down strap and snug it down.

There are even companies that make mounts for spare props.

I use a few of them.......... I even have one dedicated to a few dry towels.
