Dinged up my stock aluminum prop, need a new prop and was thinking of buying stainless. Since props are kinda trial and error maybe I can get some suggestions . I have the boat set up to perform satisfactory now with the alum prop, motor is 115 optimax on a 17 ft alum v hull. I have the motor raised so the cavitation plate is close to two inches above bottom of lowest point of hull. Water pressure and temps are good at wot and trimmed up, cavitation plate is just out of the water at full trim and on plane. With two people and gear for a days fishing I hit 5400 to 5600 rpm's trimmed up at wot. Motor is rated at 5750. No gps for speed, it scoots right along but it doesnt seem to pick up anymore speed going from say 5400 to the 5600 mark.

The alum prop on it is 13 x 19 quicksilver three blade. I can feel this prop slip when I hammer it at midrange and it blows out in turns trimmed up. Thats the main problem now, I brought this up in an earlier post and have narrowed down a prop pick to the stilleto advantage I, but open to any suggestions. Question would be since the alum prop I have now puts me a little under the max rated rpm's of 5750 would going to a stainless steel Stelleto Advantage in the same 19 pitch lower my max rpm's even lower? Or should I go to the next pitch lower which would be 17?

Cheers and Thanks!
