i have a 1990 monterey scr206 bowrider and im looking to find the walk thru piece of glass for the middle. anyone know of a place to get them or boat junkyards? i have contacted the glass maker and it would have to be made for a price im not willing to pay. The piece of glass slides into a u channel of aluminum which also has the hinge connected to the u channel. any help ??

Is the frame intact? If it is I'd be surprised if an auto-glass shop can't help you.

Windshields are one of the hardest to find and priciest boat parts.

Yeah! Tempered glass--very expensive. last pane I replaced cost me 70 bucks. But even a used pane will set you back more than a couple of simoleans. The junkyard knows what it is worth. SO; if time is the essence, break down and buy the new pane.

I have found out the great thing about Monterey boats is they use top quality parts to finish their boats.

The bad thing is they use top quality parts for the fit and finish on their boats.

The result is you have to pay top quality prices when you break something.

I broke the walk through section of mine once. Since it was a flat square piece I had a standard piece cut and took it to a glass tempering plant in town. They tempered it with one of their runs, stamped it as tempered and charged me $25. Guess I got lucky.

well thats the problem i dont have the frame either. it appears the frame and glass slide into a u channel and is held there by set screws.....so no frame makes it equally difficult...and i cant find any pics of my boat to even take to have one fabricated by an auto glass place.....luckily it appears that the qalk thru glass is square so it would be easy to make...
