need advice on best trolling engine

I am looking for a new outboard for my 14 ft tin fishing boat and want a slow trolling engine<br /><br />My choice was a used 40 hp honda but at the Toronto fishing show yesterday I was advised to go with a new 40hp 2 stroke oil injected merc<br /><br />Apparently the merc will troll slower because the honda is a 4 stroke and requires a faster rpm at idle for lubrication<br /><br />Any advice out there on which way I should go ?

Hey i have a 13' jon boat with a 8hp Nissan outboard on it . I recommend a Nissan motor they are better than mercurys. Trust me!! They are good trolling motors and have better speed than mercurys.They also last longer as well. I'd go with a Nissan my self.<br /><br /> Ryan C

The Honda will idle (troll) for a week without problems. <br /><br />It is bigger and heavier than the Merc.<br /><br />Moving to General Outboard.
